Alpecin-Deceuninck, only two races for Jasper Philipsen before Tour de France

Jasper Philipsen’s summer schedule has been announced, at least until the Tour de France 2024. Dominator of last season’s sprints, winning the Green Jersey in the process, the Belgian rider has obviously made the Grande Boucle one of his big seasonal goals again, having already experienced a star-studded spring. With Mathieu van der Poel set to be by his side again in the French GT, the stout Flemish sprinter is thus preparing for another three weeks at a high level, in which he will clearly go in search of the arduous task of confirming himself.

To succeed he will observe a specific preparation that includes few races, not even top-level ones. In fact, he will not be at the start of the traditional Tour of Dauphiné or Tour of Switzerland, but in approach to Florence, where the Grand Départ will take place, he will participate only in two races: the first will be the Tour of Belgium, scheduled from June 12 to 16, which will be followed by participation in the national championships road race, which will take place on Sunday, June 23. A non-trip, then, thus also allowing for limited travel before the long absence from home for the Grande Boucle, which will begin the following Saturday in our country.
