Ronde van Limburg 2024, royal sprint by Dylan Groenewegen ahead of Maurice Ballerstedt and Arnaud De Lie

Dylan Groenewegen wins the Ronde van Limburg 2024. The Dutch sprinter managed to win the Belgian classic thanks to a sumptuous final sprint launched to perfection by taking the lead on the last and decisive sharp bend. Behind the 30-year-old from Team Jayco AlUla came 23-year-old German Maurice Ballerstedt (Alpecin-Deceuninck) and 22-year-old Belgian Arnaud De Lie (Lotto Dstny), who, however, had to settle for third.

Despite a few attacks in the final kilometers they arrived at the finish line in Tongeren with a compact and nervous peloton. In the last kilometer it was mostly Lotto Dstny that set the pace along with the Uno-X men. Biniam Girmay (Intermarché-Wanty) then made a very long start at the -500 meters and, at the last corner with 150 meters to go, was overtaken in a big way by a very launched Dylan Groenewegen, who went on to comfortably win the sprint.
