Transfers 2025: Aranburu, Carr, Gradek, Lazkano, Martinez, Mattio, Narváez, Simon Yates

These are hot days for next season’s Transfers. So many possible market movements are being talked about in the last hours, involving several important riders and many WorldTour level teams. Among the big names most talked about is certainly that of Simon Yates. The British climber is one of the grand tours riders who appears to be on the market for next season, with Jayco-AlUla hoping, however, to retain him for the next two years. However, it seems that the winner of the 2018 Vuelta has only ten days to decide what to do in 2025.

“If we were to be the ones to decide then [his answer – ed.] would come within two weeks, because we also have to make choices,” Jayco-AlUla boss Brent Copeland told GCN, “He wants to talk about the sporting aspects, how much we expect from him and vice versa, which is a discussion that is going on right now. There is talk of race programs, where he would like to have ambitions and goals and riders to support him.”

Another very talented climber featured in cyclomarket rumors is Lenny Martinez. According to recent reports in La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 20-year-old Frenchman, now at Groupama-FDJ, is reportedly one step away from signing a multi-year contract with Bahrain-Victorious starting next season. Also on the market is British climber Simon Carr, whose contract with EF Education-EasyPost is expiring. For him, however, the option of an extension with the U.S. team remains alive even though, as reported by GCN, there are many teams interested in him, including Cofidis.

Many movements that closely concern the Movistar team. According to GCN, Spaniard Oier Lazkano has now reached an agreement with Bora-Hansgrohe, a formation that has in fact offered him a three-year contract. Also very likely is the farewell of Alex Aranburu, who has apparently been approached by a French team. An important landing in the Spanish team could be Ecuadorian Jhonatan Narváez, first pink jersey of this Giro d’Italia, who could say goodbye to Ineos Grenadiers at the end of this season.

There is also a great opportunity in 2025 for 19-year-old Italian Pietro Mattio, who, thanks to his excellent performance at the recent Orlen Nations Grand Prix, earned his reconfirmation for another season in the Visma | Lease a Bike development team. Confirmation is also on the way for 33-year-old Polish rider Kamil Gradek, who, according to GCN, is expected to extend his contract with Bahrain-Victorious by an additional one or two years.
